About the movie

Scream is a 1996 American slasher film directed by Wes Craven in which high school student Sidney Prescott and her friends in the town of Woodsboro are stalked by a masked killer known as Ghostface who uses horror-movie trivia and rules as part of a deadly game. Mixing sharp suspense, dark humor, and meta commentary about horror clichés, the film revitalized the slasher genre and launched a long-running franchise.
